As a John L. Scott broker, my mission is transactional excellence and client satisfaction. That means I work tirelessly to make your home buying or selling process as efficient, stress-free and lucrative for you as possible.

Meet Paula

John L. Scott Hillsboro Market Center’s Paula Hixson began selling Real Estate in 2004. Before working in real estate, she worked in the counseling department of a local elementary school, where her role required her to compassionately serve and problem solve. The transition to real estate from counseling provided her an opportunity to combine these skills with her love for home shopping and the greater industry.

Many clients choose to work with Paula because of her unwavering support, from start to finish – and beyond the transaction. She also works hard, pays close attention to detail, exhibits transparency and is guided by the desire to do right by clients and for the world.

When working with sellers, Paula uses professional photos and marketing pieces, house floor plans, house sketches, strategic pricing and conducts in-depth comparative market analysis. She also aims to make each property seller-ready on day one, which includes kick-off weekend events, public open houses and broker tours. For buyers, Paula emphasizes a full understanding of the market, inventory and pricing for each client, and gets clients ready with a lender so when the right home is available she is able to secure it for them.

Besides her family, travel is Paula’s greatest love. She enjoys the memories and experiences gained from traveling that have taught her how to improve her life and the lives of those around her. When she’s at home, Paula likes to cook, garden in her terrace, take her dog, Buddy on walks and spend time with her family and friends.

Beaverton

The Beaver is Oregon’s state animal, and Beaverton is one of the best places to live in Oregon. Just seven miles west of Portland, Beaverton has a bevy of choices when it comes to homes, entertainment, careers and activities. Beaverton was once considered simply a suburb of Portland, but it has come into its own as a city in the past few decades. Our city was even as one of the 100 "best places to live", among smaller cities in the country named by Money magazine. Beaverton’s economy is thriving. Both Nike and Columbia Sportswear call land close to Beaverton home and many Beaverton residents work at these companies. As part of Oregon’s Silicon Forest, Beaverton is also home to several tech companies, include Textronix and the Linux Technology Center of IBM. The Terpenning Recreation Complex, which is maintained by the Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation District, encourages Beaverton residents and people in nearby towns to stay active. The Complex hosts a pool, athletic center, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, baseball and softball fields, multipurpose sports fields, skate parks, basketball courts and walking trails. Homes in Beaverton range from midcentury classics to luxury new construction. With easy access to both the Oregon coast and the Cascade mountains, outdoor activities are just a drive away. If you’d like to learn more about Beaverton, let us know. We’d love to show you around and help you find your perfect home.

“Paula was always available whenever I had a question or concern and I always felt that she was fair, honest, and in my corner. I appreciated her professionalism throughout the entire process from getting the house ready for market to photos and publicity, open house, negotiations, and the final closing. I found her to be friendly as well as helpful and I would recommend her services.”

“Paula acted as the seller's agent for the process of selling our first home. She brought years of expertise, a dedicated team of professionals for almost anything we needed, and a wonderful, positive attitude to the entire process. Our experience was complicated by both a winter storm that caused property damage and being out of state. Paula adeptly handled both challenges. She was tenacious on our behalf, yet also very kind and patient with us. Her market analysis and advice were spot on. She was able to secure well-screened buyers and we got our full asking price within a week! This was well over what we would have asked for if we had gone in alone. I cannot say enough good things about her communication, the ease of the electronic document signing process, or her professionalism from start to finish. Toward the end of the selling process even the buyers preferred to work with her directly, instead of their own buyer's agent. We would highly recommend her, whether this is your first or 100th home.”
